The Challenge in Detail

The hackathon

Today, cars are much more than just a way to get around. Because of this, offering drivers a constantly growing spectrum of digital services is becoming a bigger and bigger challenge.

Work with a team to develop a service-based vehicle app and implement it directly in practice. The app doesn’t have to be used solely for the automotive sector, it can also respond to other current trends as well such as integrating data from smart cities, IoT devices, smart home equipment, social networks, smartphones or your preferred cloud service.

The makers

Whether you’re a web developer, embedded engineer, or interaction designer: Use your expertise – and your preferred programming language – to develop a microservice and help your team get ahead.

With our SW framework and available infrastructure, individual microservices can be combined to create a new service. Then the service will be packaged as an app, integrated into our vehicle simulator and tested directly. We recommend starting out by thinking about the customer – find out what they need, then make it a reality.

The equipment

Outstanding results demand the best working materials! We’ll help you with all the technical resources you need. All you need to bring is your own laptop – and you’re ready to go!

The winners

There can only be one: Collect technical points in the hackathon by fulfilling your tasks. The jury will rate your ideas based on multiple aspects such as the idea’s potential and degree of innovation. The team with the most points wins!
