Continental HR Graduate Program at a glance

Within the global Continental HR Graduate Program you will be part of a multi-cultural business team and gain a holistic picture of the professional world of Human Relations at Continental.

During the two-year program you will participate in different trainings and work in four national and international assignments (each lasting six months) within HR, such as Recruiting, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management, operative Employee Management, HR Communications or a related department. You will be guided and supported by experienced colleagues, experts and your own business mentor. Visits to customers, suppliers and different Continental facilities will provide you with a sound understanding of market and plant perspectives, which are key components of the overall business process.

In addition, you will work on local and global HR projects in national and international teams as well as in your graduate group. This gives you the opportunity to shape the program according to your ideas and wishes.

Teambuilding events and various development weeks complement the program and enable you to take the first step towards a successful career at Continental. Start your career with our Continental HR Graduate Program!

What can you expect?

Step 1: Welcome Week

The program starts with a welcome week in Hanover, Germany. You will get to know the other HR Graduates and major stakeholders of the organization, participate in a teambuilding event and trainings, receive your one-year team project, and learn about Continental, our HR strategy, and our values.

Step 2: First and Second Assignment

You will spend your first six months at your home location. Through experiencing daily business operations at your home HR department, you will become equipped with the necessary knowledge in the field of HR and the major business processes of internal HR customers. You will help to create your individual development plan and stay connected with the other HR Graduates through your team project work. During your second assignment you will change your perspective by working in a different department which may also belong to a different division, business unit, location, market or be in another country.

Step 3: Gathering Week

In the middle of the program you will spend the gathering week together with the other HR Graduates in Hanover, Germany. It is characterized by the final presentation of your one-year team project, by various trainings and will be complemented by a special team event.

Step 4: Third and Fourth Assignment

For your third assignment you will again work in a different department. By now you will have built up a broad global network within Continental and profit from the previous learnings in your daily work. The major focus of your fourth and final assignment will be on-the-job training to gain final practical experience for your upcoming placement.

Depending on your individual direction and the business needs of your home location, your placement can be in a department of your home location, in a business function or in a center of expertise.

Step 5: Graduation Week

At the end of the program you will be up to speed on our organizational structures as well as HR processes and products at Continental. We will be celebrating your achievements during your graduation week with a final training, a feedback session and an official graduation ceremony.

Step 6: Placement

Now it’s your turn – show what you have learned and make the most of your career!
