Customers will profit from new service concepts
For workshops, the changing market is creating a much greater need for knowledge. Repair know-how is becoming a decisive competitive advantage. Continental is prepared and will be supporting workshops with a special bonus program. Besides giving rewards to its loyal customers it will also promote continuous learning. Workshops can exchange their collected points for training courses, which means further growth. At automechanika Continental will be presenting its loyalty program to the public for the first time.
One pioneering step on the path towards digitalization is voice-activated control of service processes and access to repair information. For this purpose Continental is currently working on an innovative concept with TecAlliance, a provider of data, processes and services. The concept will be showcased at automechanika.
Extensive product line continues to grow
Continental is also taking advantage of its strong position as a manufacturer of original equipment to offer workshops even more spare parts in OE quality. To this end it has recently considerably expanded its product line. Starting in January 2019, Continental will be offering fuel filters, oil filters, passenger compartment filters and air filters on the European automotive aftermarket. They are made by UFI Filters, an Italian OEM supplier. The two companies have concluded a cooperative agreement for this purpose. The product range will also include windshield wipers and batteries.
Continental is also offering complete packages with a drive belt and water pump to make it easier for workshops to handle spare parts.
Continental will also be presenting new tire products under its corporate brand for the coming winter season.
