What can the app do?

Using the camera function, the conti intern+ app can detect specially marked images in conti intern and display additional content. You can also use the app to bookmark selected content to be retrieved later.

How do I use the conti intern+ app?

  1. Look out for content in the magazine that is accompanied by the conti intern+ symbol. 
  2. Hold your smartphone 20 cm above the page and press "Scan" to load conti intern+ content for the current issue of conti intern. After scanning, conti intern+ content items will be displayed on the screen. Load the content by tapping the items.
  3. Pushed for time? You can also mark content for later. Just tap the bookmark symbol next to the content. You will find the bookmarks under "My Content".

Does the app work without an Internet connection?

This app does work without an Internet connection, although any content that requires an active Internet connection cannot be replayed or displayed. This affects image recognition and bookmarks.

On what smartphones can I use the conti intern+ app?

The app is compatible with iOS or Android devices that use a camera. The specifications in detail can be found here (as at August 2016):

iOS

  • Devices running iOS 8.0 and up
  • Devices with a capable CPU (minimum Apple A4 SoC) e.g. iPhone 5 or newer (iPhone 4 possible but not recommended),    iPad2 or newer, iPod Touch 5th gen

Android

  • Android 4.4+ (API Level 16+)
  • High resolution devices (hdpi)
  • Devices with a capable CPU (armv7a and NEON support) e.g. Samsung Galaxy S2 or newer, Nexus 4 or newer, Nexus 10 (2012) or newer, OpenGL 2.0

Questions about using the app

How do I use the scan function? 

  1. Look out for articles marked with the conti intern+ symbol.
  2. Tap "Scan" and hold your device approximately 20 cm above the page so that you can see it on your screen.
  3. Once the image has been recognized, the corresponding conti intern+ content will appear. This process requires a good Internet connection and may take a few seconds.

How do I load conti intern+ content?

Once an image has been recognized, one or more conti intern+ content items will be displayed. Load the content by tapping the items. You can delete content items by swiping them to the left.

How do I bookmark conti intern+ content?

Each item of content that can be marked has a corresponding symbol – a bookmark. Tap this symbol to save it as a bookmark under "My Content".

Where do I find my bookmarks?

Your bookmarks can be found under "My Content" at any time.

How do I delete bookmarks?

You can delete all bookmarks by swiping them to the left.

How do I load content from previous issues of conti intern?

conti intern+ content for the current issue is always loaded automatically. You can load conti intern+ content from previous issues via the archive button at the bottom of the screen in scan mode.

Troubleshooting

I am not able to load conti intern+ content. What can I do?

  1. Please ensure that your smartphone has access to the Internet.
  2. Are you viewing the current issue? conti intern+ content for the current issue is always loaded automatically. You can load conti intern+ content from previous issues via the archive button in scan mode.
  3. Please hold your device approximately 20 cm above the marked article so that you can see it on your screen. It is not sufficient just to scan the conti intern+ symbol.

The app is slow to respond. Why is this?

  • On some devices, apps run much more slowly if the memory is full or nearly full. Delete any files or apps you don't need or transfer them to your memory card. Then try again. 
  • If you are using an older device, its comparatively low device performance might be causing the app to run slowly. Here you can see which devices the app supports.

Although I'm logged into the Wi-Fi, I received this error message: "No online connection. Make sure that an online connection exists." Why is this?

Wi-Fi connections are subject to fluctuations. This error message appears whenever the online connection is in the process of being reestablished at the same time content is being loaded. Return to the home screen and press "Scan" again.

I'm using an Android smartphone and cannot load the content displayed to me as a button.

Make sure that you have the latest operating system installed on your smartphone. Problems can occur with older versions.
