UN Global Compact
Continental is a participant in the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact) and a member of the German Global Compact Network (DGCN). This demonstrates our commitment to its ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and the fight against corruption.
Women's Empowerment Principles
By signing the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), Continental emphasizes its commitment to supporting women. The WEPs are a joint initiative by UN Women and UN Global Compact, which work to promote and empower women in companies, and which comprise seven principles.
World Business Council for Sustainable Development
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a pioneer and catalyst on the pathway to sustainable development. The aim of this alliance is to promote the role of ecological efficiency, innovation, and corporate social responsibility. Continental is involved in WBCSD as part of the Tire Industry Project.
Sustainable Natural Rubber Initiative
Continental is a member of the Sustainable Natural Rubber Initiative (SNR-i), which has developed an initiative that has members from all levels of the natural rubber value creation chain. The aim of the initiative is to obtain natural rubber using methods proven to be sustainable.
Luxembourg Declaration on Workplace Health Promotion
By signing the Luxembourg Declaration on Workplace Health Promotion in the European Union, Continental is doing justice to its corporate responsibility with regards to promoting occupational health and safety.
European Road Safety Charter
Continental is a signatory of the European Road Safety Charter. The charter is an appeal for all groups in society and an impetus for them to improve road safety in Europe and significantly reduce the number of fatalities.

Continental is a member of econsense - the Forum for Sustainable Development of German Business e.V. Econsense was established on the initiative of the Federation of German Industries e.V. (BDI) and promotes dialog between politicians, scientists, media and companies on the further development of sustainability issues relevant to companies.
