By participating in sustainability initiatives and being evaluated by rating agencies, Continental demonstrates that sustainability goals and topics are anchored in its corporate strategy.
We have responded annually to the CDP extensive questionnaire about our commitment to climate protection since 2009. The process is linked to a public ranking. In 2012, Continental moved up in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). In 2018, Continental was once again given an improved rating compared with the previous year. We were upgraded from level C to level B in the Climate Change area and from level D to level B in the Water area. In February 2019, Continental was also honored as a “CDP Supplier Engagement Leader” for its strategies and measures throughout the supply chain to reduce CO2 emissions.
This upgrade is testament to Continental’s active management for climate and water protection and makes us one of the best companies in the automotive sector.
